GINU MATHEW

A post Graduate in Social Work form Amrita University with the title of Gold Medal Winner, Ginu Mathew is working as Project Coordinator of Psychosocial Care for Children in Conflict with Law (Kaval Project) supported by the DWCD, GoK at Pathanamthitta and in School Safety Programme. He has experience of working with children in difficult circumstances which includes psychosocial care and support functions. Pursuing The Universal Prevention Curriculum for Substance Use, developed by The US Department of State’s Drug Advisory Programme (DAP) and funded by The Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL).

LUCKY ANTONY

Masters in Social Work with specialisation in Medical & Psychiatric from the De Paul Institute of Science & Technology (DiST), Angamaly affiliated to the MG University. She worked as a Co-ordinator at Childline Thiruvananthapuram for two and half years. Childline 1098 is a service of the Ministry of Women and Child Development, GoI for rescuing and assisting children in distress. As an intern, she worked in the Psychiatric Department of the Govt. General Hospital Thiruvananthapuram; Mental Health Centre Thiruvananthapuram; Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Research Institute, Pondicherry and Bethsaida Mental Health Center, Perumbavoor, Kerala. AJAY J

Ajay. J, a Post Graduate in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. He has a degree in English literature. Also holds a professional degree in Journalism from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. Currently he is working as Case Worker under project titled ‘Psychosocial Care for Children in Conflict with Law’ (Kaval) at Thiruvananthapuram supported by the Department of Women and Child Development (DWCD), GoK. He is trained in Family Enrichment Programme and Stress Management from NIMHANS Bengaluru.

MUHAMMED FAROOQ C M

Muhammed Farooq C M completed his Masters in Social Work with a specialization in Health Social Work practices (Medical and Psychiatry) from Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady, Kerala. He has experience both in medical and psychiatric settings from institutions like JIPMER, Pondicherry. He was the Ernakulam District Coordinator for providing Psychosocial First Aid to the survivors of 2018 Kerala Floods implemented by the Department of Women and Child Development (DWCD), Govt of Kerala. Currently working as Case Worker in project titled “Psychosocial Care for Children in Conflict with Law” popularly known as “KAVAL”, supported by the DWCD, GoK at Pathanamthitta.

JENIN KOSHY ABRAHAM

Postgraduate in Social Work (Medical and Psychiatry) from Loyola College of Social Sciences, Thiruvananthapuram, affiliated to the University of Kerala. He has completed a BA in English Literature from St. Thomas College, Kozhencherry, affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. Currently working as a Case worker in a project titled “Community Based Rehabilitation and Reintegration (CBRR) of Children in Need of Care and Protection (CNCP) through Psychosocial Approach – Saranabalyam KAVAL PLUS Project” supported by the Department of Women and Child Development (DWCD), Government of Kerala. He is being well trained with enriched fieldwork exposure during his post-graduation programme in various settings of social work like medical, psychiatric, palliative care, child welfare, disability and disaster management.

Bismitha R

Masters in Social Work with specialization in Medical & Psychiatry from the University of Kerala, Kariavattom campus. She worked at Neogen care as medical social worker. As an intern she worked in Sacred Heart Mental Hospital, Thodupuzha, DISHA 1056; Karunasai Deaddiction Center and Psychopark, Vellanadu and District Disaster Management Authority, Thiruvananthapuram. Currently working as Case Worker in a project titled “Community Based Rehabilitation for Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse” in Thiruvananthapuram, supported by the Department of Women and Child Development (DWCD), GoK.

Balalekshmi S B

A postgraduate in Social Work from Loyola College of Social Sciences, Thiruvananthapuram Kerala awarded a gold medal in the community development specialization. Pursuing The Universal Prevention Curriculum for Substance Use, developed by The US Department of State’s Drug Advisory Programme (DAP) and funded by The Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) and Diploma in Counselling and Family Therapy from IGNOU New Delhi. In addition to experience with children in need of care and protection by working in Hope Community Children’s Village Alappuzha, she has exposure to HIV/AIDS programmes in Kerala by working under the Kerala AIDS Control Society for two years, and the centre has achieved the best counselling award from the Kerala AIDS Control Society. She was recognised for the contributions she made during the pandemic period through the District Mental Health Programme of the Govt. of Kerala. She is also trained in various areas of social work practices during academic placements with different organisations like; Nepal Jesuit Social Institute, Nepal; District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) Thiruvananthapuram and HOPE Community Children’s Village Alappuzha. Currently working as a social worker in a project titled “Psychosocial Care for Children in Conflict with Law” popularly known as “KAVAL”, supported by the Department of Women and Child Development (DWCD), GoK at Thiruvananthapuram.
